Thought for the day ...
Another ridiculous day in the office. I swear my head would have exploded if it had not be enveloped in skin. There have been plenty thoughts buzzing around my head all day- so much so that their crashing into my scull has made my eyes go blurry. However, the resounding winner in the thoughts department has definitely been to never take my time for granted.
BREATH. RELAX. LOOK AROUND. TAKE TIME OUT.
After such a lovely weekend with friends and the Iron-man, I have found myself sitting back at my desk at the Agency, as if the past two days haven't happened.
On a deeper level, I find myself typing in the date and reeling at the fact that we are at the end of July already. Where were you this time last year? I know my life has taken monumental turns for the better and it feels like no time has passed at all. I find myself thinking about how much leave I will take in December and if I should start saving for family Christmas presents- I know my bank account is wishing for more time on that one...
The Tour de France is officially over (a big reason for my depressed mood today). After a flurry of excitement, we are now faced with another 365 days until the lads press off from Bordeaux and head off on the 3000 odd kilometers to Paris again. (Frankie- you better not break next year). The World Cup has come and gone, we have lost three huge Rugby matches in a row and Wimbledon is over.
Even the days are getting longer, and the sun is taking a little extra time to skip across the sky.
It's all evidence that time marches on. There really is no use in fighting it. The only way to deal with it is to grab a drum and march right next to it, taking in all the scenery, sights, smells and pictures along the way.
Seriously- life is moving. Take the opportunity to get up from your desk, make a cup of tea and have a conversation with a friend in the middle of the day. Get out and do something on the weekend instead of staying home. Spend that little bit of extra cash instead of saving it for a rainy day. Get out and live life. It was given to us for a reason. It's not a gift voucher that is meant to be left in your wallet to expire after so long- it's meant to be redeemed at any participating outlet.
That's it- my thought for the day.
Now time to shut off my PC, grab my kit and make a move... I'm going to try and catch the sun before it sinks into the ocean- ready to shed some light and love on someone Else's life.
Love and Gratitude
