The TAA Salomon Blanket

I started writing a post about branding and it's influence in our lives. It just felt like work. And this blog is not work for me. 

I am lucky enough to have a very talented and creative Producer as a friend, who sent me the link to TAA's first clip for the year. Please read this post before you carry on any further for some much needed context.

Great, now you can continue to appreciate their first bit of work for 2012 and have the chance to "Get behind the scenes during this year's Advanced Week in Greece & learn more about the mix of commitment, fun, hi-tech research and interaction that makes [the Salomon] crowd a very special one". 

Like a good book, I find all of the work that TAA is doing, and all of their pieces of filming, are building a personality and a story  around the Salomon Brand. It's a complex story with many angles and hooks. Their insight and vision (and talent, did I mention talent yet?) are really an asset to the Salomon Brand team. Because, let's face it: While the Salomon athletes are undeniably good at what they do, it's really in the capturing of their skill and opinions on Trail Running that Salomon is really able to tell us a story about their brand. 

Not only are they telling us a story, but they are covering us in a big Salomon Blanket...that looks like Salomon should look, and smells like Salomon should smell (both new- out the box, and used - out the washing machine). More importantly, the TAA Salomon blanket lets us feel the way Salomon should feel. Something , I feel, is so important when it's not just a shoe, or a pair of shorts, or a shirt that the brand is selling...but a lifestyle. 

So, please make yourself a cup of tea to go with this next piece of the Salamon Blanket. If this is how 2012 has started off, F1, it gives me goose-bumps to think how the rest of the year is going to go.
